Replacing Your Acura's Tires

Surely you know the weather in the Cincinnati area can be great one day and treacherous the next. With that being said your tires are probably the most important items to maintain on your Acura. You will want to be sure you have excellent traction on the road to protect you and your family. Optimum performance of tires can be linked to specific tread designs for wet, slushy or even snow covered roads.

The more wear and tear your tires get will mean the more likely you may slip in the snow or even hydroplane on a simple wet surface. The tread depth of the whole tire will determine your ability to stop when you hit the brakes. The less the tread the longer it will take to stop.

When pricing tires at local establishments, keep in mind that all Acura tires purchased from Superior Acura are engineered for your Acura vehicle. Speed ratings and model numbers can vary for what appear to be matching tires. Be sure to ask your Service Advisor for details.

Due to our crazy weather, Superior Acura recommends changing tires once they have approximately 4/32" (3mm) of tread depth remaining. Yes, you still have tread remaining at this time but it will allow for better stopping and handling. The depth when the tires are deemed worn out is 2/32" (1.6mm).Proper rotation and balance will extend your tires life so be sure to invest in those rotations when they are indicated.
